Pool Scene, Inc

Embassy Suites Hotel, Sacramento California

This indoor hotel swimming pool and spa was originally completed in 2002 in a beautiful location along the Sacramento River.  Unfortunately, the entire swimming pool and spa area began showing signs of settling in late 2004.  The pool, spa and concrete deck eventually developed significant cracks and the entire area was closed!  Faced with the loss of a popular amenity, the hotel contacted Neil Anderson and Associates to analyze the failure and engineer the remedial required to reopen the pool and spa.

The difficulties associated with rebuilding the pool area soon became apparent.  The pool and spa were located in the footprint of an operating hotel in a congested downtown environment immediately adjacent to the Old Sacramento Railway and the Sacramento River.  The project required demolition and off haul of the existing pool and spa along with the excavation and off haul of 500 cubic yards of concrete, soil and debris.  This work would be followed by the placement of 450 yards of concrete fill and the construction of a new pool, spa and deck.  The owner had to find a contractor capable of performing this difficult scope of work as quickly as possible.

Based on our reputation and experience, Pool Scene, Inc. was selected for the job.  Working closely with the owner, hotel management, Neil Anderson and Associates and Capitol Concrete Breaking of Wilton, California, the project was completed in 75 Days.
